Just for Parents

What You Need To Knowfp-2.JPG

If your child is planning a future trip to Malibu Club or is here right now, we want you to have the information you need to rest easy while he or she is away. There are many activities at camp in which your child may be participating. Whether they are challenged on the high ropes course, playing in the waterfront or spending time in the game room, their safety is our top concern.

How can my child attend Malibu Club?

For summer and weekend camps, all spots are given out to individual Young Life areas. Those areas fill their allocated spots with kids from their local town. If you are interested in attending Malibu Club or finding out how to send your child to camp here, contact your local Young Life office. They might not be attending camp at Malibu Club, but they most likely have a trip planned to one of Young Life's other fabulous properties! Note: Young Life Canada areas chose not to attend the Malibu Club. If you are from Canada, please contact your local YL Canada area for trips to RockRidge Canyon or other properties they have planned.

 What To Bring

  • Citizenship Documentation - All non-Canadian citizens must have proof of citizenship to enter Canada. Please talk to your local area about approved documentation for their trip.
  • Toiletries - Basic toiletries can be purchased at camp if forgotten.
  • Proper clothing - Warm clothing and a rain jacket should be packed any time of year. Closed-toe shoes are required for some activities. Don't forget your bathing suit.
  • Medications - Our medical staff will be glad to help with any special needs. Please call the office or your trip leader.
  • Special dietary needs - We will work with you to meet your dietary needs. Please call the office or your trip leader.
  • Allergies - Due to our remote location, we are a minimum of 3 hours to a full medical facility. Anyone with a life-threatening allergy should contact the camp office prior to arrival.
  • Sleeping bag or sheets - Depending on the trip, linens may or may not be provided. Check with your trip leader.
  • Money - The camp store has T-shirts, books and other gifts. There is also a snack bar and coffee shop that will be open throughout the day.
  • Mail and care packages - Lettermail takes 3-5 weeks to arrive at camp, and packages take 4-6 weeks to arrive at camp. All packages will be going through Customs to enter Canada and may have charges applied to them. Please call the camp office to discuss sending packages at least 2 months prior to your child's arrival at Malibu.
